Volunteer

When you volunteer for NAMI Whatcom, you help provide services and compassion for people living with mental illness. We look for several ideals in potential volunteers. Please contact us if you possess all or some of the following qualities:
  • Compassion
  • Patience
  • Organization
  • Punctuality
  • Experience with mental illness
  • Willingness to learn and attend trainings for teacher and facilitator positions
  • Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Office software
  • Ethical awareness
  • Respect for confidentiality
  • Desire to help others
  • Comfort with answering phones, writing down messages, and directing callers to appropriate resources.
We appreciate all people who are willing to work with NAMI Whatcom to help deliver the services that we're passionate about! Our volunteers graciously donate their time and compassion to our clients in need. We hope that you choose to participate in the unique and empowering experience that we offer at NAMI Whatcom.
